MESSAGE TO THE SOUTH AUSTRALIAN CHINESE COMMUNITY FROM THE PREMIER, THE HONOURABLE JAY WEATHERILL MP ON THE OCCASION OF THE LUNAR NEW YEAR 2015 YEAR OF THE GOAT
On behalf of the Government of South Australia, I am delighted to extend New Year best wishes to all members of South Australia’s Chinese community. South Australia’s thriving Chinese community continues to make a substantial contribution to our society and economy.
South Australians of Chinese heritage have experienced success in many fields of human endeavours and we celebrate their achievements.
South Australia and China enjoy a mutually beneficial and prosperous relationship, and my Government is committed to working with the South Australian Chinese community to further strengthen our cultural and economic ties. Since the launch of our South Australia China Engagement Strategy in 2012, we have deepened our engagement considerably.
Over the past decades, South Australia has gained a well-earned reputation as a model of diversity. Today, we continue to celebrate the cultural and religious diversity in our community. I know that the South Australian Chinese community will join with me in reaching out across cultures so that we continue to build on our success as a harmonious and prosperous community.
May the Year of the Goat be one of joy and may you and your family enjoy health and prosperity throughout the year.
