Chinese visitors to South Australia stay longer and spend more than any other nationality, new data shows. The latest International Visitor Survey reveals SA attracted 357,000 overseas tourists in the year to March – up 5.5 per cent, or 20,000, on the previous year and the largest increase in five years.In that period, 24,000 Chinese tourists visited SA, making up 7 per cent of all visitors.

This placed the Asian giant fifth among countries sending tourists to SA but it ranked first for the number of nights they spend here. Chinese visitors accounted for 17 per cent of visitor nights or 1.79 million.
