Adelaide Chinatown’s largest ever Chinese New Year celebrations will be a platform to build support for South Australia’s China Strategy.

President of Adelaide’s Chinatown and the Australian Asian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Irena Zhang, says we must use this unprecedented opportunity to highlight the importance of this Strategy, to ensure local industry develops the capacity and capability to do business with China.

This includes, as the Strategy says:

• better leveraging the local Chinese community and businesses to forge stronger SA – China engagement,
• developing a China Business Education Program to ensure our businesses are China-literate, leveraging government to government and official ties, and
• focusing on second and third tier growth markets within China, such as Qingdao in SA’s sister province Shandong.”
