Adelaide to host Shandong and Qingdao artists

The Adelaide Festival Centre Trust and the Shandong department of culture have signed an agreement that will allow artists and performers to travel from China. Premier Jay Weatherill, who is in China on a trade mission, says the deal will add a cultural element to the longstanding economic and political ties between the two cities. “For the Chinese, cultural exchange and collaboration go hand-in-hand with economic exchange and collaboration,” Mr Weatherill said in a statement. “A true partnership must have an economic, political and cultural element and this agreement will add the cultural element to our relationship.”
