Chinatown Adelaide welcomes Chinese actress Lily Ji to South Australia to promote and showcase Adelaide and South Australia as one of the most creative, innovative and industrious places in Australia.

Lily Ji, originally from Kunming, Yunnan, south west of China, came to Australia when she just graduated from high school for her higher education degree in Arts. After 5 years of studying in Australia, as the first Chinese international student, she graduated from The National Institute of Dramatic Arts in 2012. Shortly after her return back to China in mid year of 2013,she then appeared in the latest Michael Bay Hollywood blockbuster ‘Transformers 4’, as the Chinese News Reporter.

After that Lily has finished shooting for four films and one TV drama in China in 2014.In 2015, her first feature film as the female lead- ‘The Emperors Holiday’ (family comedy) will be releasing on 19th February during the Chinese New Year in China nationally. The film features YueLun Wang, Jimmy Lin, Tao Guo and Liang Zhang. YueLun is also the director. Lily played the sexy goddess Selina who later on was discovered as a spy from Yunnan.

The other three films will be releasing in 2015 are: ‘The Wine War’, directed by Leon Lai, featuring Leon Lai, HanYu Zhang, Du Juan etc. Lily played one of the female leads Mille in the film, which was filmed in France last summer.’The Old Guard’, by Sammo Hung, stars Sammo Hung, Andy Lau, Eddie Peng etc. Lily played the young ex-wife of Andy Lau in the story.’Skiptrace’, a Chinese American co-production directed by Renny Harlin, stars Jackie Chan, BingBing Fan, Johnny Knoxville and Sean William Scott. Lily was the Macao Customs officer with English accent. This film has been Lily’s second Hollywood production after her graduation.

The TV drama: ‘The Code’ is set in 1930’s in China which is the first period drama for Lily, features Kimi Qiao and Feng Zu.

Currently Lily is on the new TV talent show called ‘Hidden Energy’, with Jackie Chan, BingBing Li, XiaoGang Feng and GuoLi Zhang as the 4 mentors. The show has just recently aired in China on one of the top 3 TV Channel ZheJiang TV.

Apart from being an actress, Lily Ji has been working as a director, she was the artistic director for the Miss Sydney International pageant 2012 while she was in the final year of her study in NIDA, Lily has been working with her mentor to produce films, especially co-productions between China the world. As a producer, she has been working on a Chinese Australian Co production project, which she hopes that through this film, she can promote the cultures as well as enhance the friendship between China and Australia.
